One of the most important factors effecting packed tower performance is design and selection of appropriate liquid distributor. Liquid distributors generally are located 2 to 10 inches above packing beds. A well designed distributor has the following features:

Uniform distribution of fluid

Appropriate operating range

Low gas pressure drop

No clogging

Low liquid retention time
