Inert balls are available in different sizes and they are widely used as adsorbent and dryers in a variety of chemical industries. These balls place on the grid as support. They are used as bed retainer but do not provide any specific resistance to fluid flow. The design of inert balls shall be such that the smallest balls remain on the screen and do not pass through the open space of the screen and also resist against maximum mechanical load of the bed.
